Last Night I Dreamt...

…that somebody loved me. Namely this dress. Everyone I know that wears frocks, has a dream one in the back of their mind. You keep your eye out for it. The Dress. The one dress to rule them all. You know, that sort of a thing.  Mine has, for a long time been a red Gunnex Sax with velvet, or corduroy and preferably a sundress.

After many hits and misses I think I've finally found and spent a full quarter of my clothing allowance on it.  With pockets and lace and a near-maxi length. As far as I'm concerned, summer's here. Come hell, or more likely in these parts, high water.

Are you harboring a dream dress of your own?

  1. Since childhood, I’ve dreamed of a Gunne. Back in the day when they were still being produced & could be found in stores, I remember begging my mom for one on the rare occasions when we visited the department store. She was reluctant to buy something we could make ourselves, so she sewed me a floral dress that was Gunne-esque in style. The dress she made was truly lovely and very much cherished…yet still I pined for a genuine Gunne. That wish sparked a lifelong frock passion & quest for the perfect Gunne. Preferably blue in color. Which I’m happy to say I finally found, in your beautiful shop. It has the sweetest lacey collar, is my favorite shade of blue, and puts me in mind of happy Summer days yet to come. It’s a dress of possibility and magic, a dress to wear for travel, adventures, musical outings and dreams come true. My beautiful dream Gunne was worth the decades-long wait…I think even my mom would approve!
If only vintage clothes could tell us the epic tales of adventure that led them to find us…for it’s my firm belief that the right vintage pieces find their preferred new owners at just the right time, often with a sprinkling of magic or serendipity in the stories!
Congrats on finding your Dream Gunne, dear Milla! Enjoy every beautiful day wearing it...it's totally gorgeous and suits you to a "t"!!! xo

I found mine last summer :o) - you'll probably see it on me in one of my July posts!

And guess what? Last night I dreamt about a girl I know, uncharacteristically wearing a white long-sleeved dress...
