Stocking Foot Friend

Some of you may remember that back in January our family went on a little birthday adventure in Seattle to see one of our three mutual favorite bands (or bands that we can even agree on ever). Well, tonight we'll venture out to another island for more of the same magic. Oh and if you watch this sweet 'lil movie our friend Giusepi made back in the spring, you'll see us goofing off and having a grand old time.

These lovely people are on tour right now, don't miss 'em in a town near you!

Ps. I can't ever figure you guys out; my post yesterday got over five hundred hits in less than 24 hours, meaning that a bunch of you read it, but almost no one wanted to say anything. Too sad? Too harsh? Not cute enough? What gives?

    1. Try google analytics. The blogger stats are total bogus. I don't really check either regularly, but I do when I do issues posts 'cos I'm interested in how many folks are drawn to those, yet don't leave comments for a variety of reasons. Part of why I do issues posts is cos I feel like it's my small part in "doing the right thing' as well as intrinsic to my nature and so I hope folks read them and would love conversation to emerge. I can tell the spikes in blogger stats and then I check in goog analytics for actual numbers.

  3. You are the reason that I know about Elephant Revival, I feel so lucky to know about them. We have seen them live and have their records. We love them, and we live near Nederland, CO where they live which is so cool! I just sent your link out to everyone I know, so hopefully it will help the band get some $$ for their record. Keep up the good work!

    1. Kerttu, niin samaa mielta tasta. Taalla Amerikassa vaan noi ongelmat tulee ihan iholle, mutta jengi vaan hokee etta eiku ihan tasa-arvoisiahan me ollaan ja itsekin tunnen afrikkalais-amerikkalaisia/ queer-ihmisia/ paperittomia enka ees syrji niita. Valilla meinaa menna hermo ;)

Kiinnostavaa tietaa mita teet toikses? Hyvalta kuulostaa.

  5. Thanks for introducing me to Elephant Revival, loving all I've heard so far. How is the music scene up there on the islands? Taking a trip there in a few months and would love to see some live music!

    1. Not so great where I live right now and actually, because of the crummy noise ordinance that makes everything get all quiet at 10pm everywhere, BUT we do get some live music. It used to be way better for a while. It's good on San Juan because of this and another new venue. Which Island are you gonna visit??! Come say hi pls.

  6. That's a bummer about the noise ordinance, but we will be traveling with a little one so may not be staying out muh past 10 anyway...haven't completely decided which islands to stay on, thinking a few nights on San juan and a few on orcas. Which island are you on? (I'm a new reader) what would you recommend for a little family looking to do a little of everything?? Actually, we are thinking about moving up that way, so we really want to get a feel for things. What are lopez and shaw like?
